PEFC is a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems. PEFC was founded in 1999 and it has since become the largest forest certification system in the world.
When you buy PEFC-certified products you can be confident that the material originates in a sustainably managed forest. This is ensured through traceability of the entire processing chain and through independent third-party certification.
PEFC strongly supports the objectives of the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR). PEFC certification takes into account numerous environmental, social and economic considerations, while at the same time addressing the EUDR’s key focus – deforestation and legality of wood.
As the world’s largest forest certification system, PEFC remains the certification system of choice for small, non-industrial private forests, with hundreds of thousands of family forest owners certified to comply with this internationally recognized Sustainability Benchmark.
